The Cemetery Ghost

Hey Clayguy fans! Welcome to the NEW newsletter!

I've got a lot of new items added to my line this year and plenty more to come next year.

mg2.jpg

This is Corky and Fats from the Anthony Hopkins film MAGIC. I made this figure many years ago when I made mostly one-of-a-kind figures. I got an email earlier this year from Dennis Alwood who was the special effects artist on the film and made the original Fats puppet. I re-furbished my figure and reproduced it in resin so I could send one to Dennis.

These are the Fitzgerald sisters from Ginger Snaps. I had a chance to meet the actresses Katherine Isabel and Emily Perkins at Flashback Weekend this year, so I made these just in time.

wb2.jpg

This is Wendy Banjo from the Devil's Rejects wearing her husband's face and running to meet a truck. I love making iconic figures and I've not seen anyone do Wendy, even though she's on posters, t-shirts, etc. So pick this one up to add to your collection.

Here's Lon Chaney as the Phantom of the Opera, another classic monster from the silent age.

This is Dr. Speculo, aka Ben Armstrong, a TV Horror Host from the Atlanta area.

Frequently asked questions:

Q. I've tried calling your phone number printed on your business card and it's disconnected. What's your phone number?

A. That number is disconnected. I'll be posting my cell number as soon as I get my voicemail working. Until then, please use e-mail or snail mail.

Q. Can you take commissions?

A. Sorry, no special orders. When I started, back in 1992, I made one-of-a-kind special orders almost exclusively. Now, however, I have over 120 different stock figures and am out-of-stock on 40 of them at any given time. So I have no time to set all that work aside while I work on one single figure. Sorry.

Q. On the base of my figure is written 23/100. Does that mean you only going to make 100?

A. I never know how many figures of any design I'll make or how popular it will be. But my customers seem to appreciate getting a signed and numbered piece. So instead of writing 23 on the base (which is meaningless without a context), I write 23/100 which means this is number 23 of the first 100 pieces sold. When the piece count goes past 100, I start numbering them 101/200, which means it's the 101st of the first 200 pieces sold.

Q. How do I get a special order made?

A. See answer above.

Q. Do you sell in stores?

A. I don't have a store myself, I sell over the internet, through the mail or at the several weekend shows I do every year. The problem with selling my figures in stores is that retailers want a discount (usually 50%) so that they can make a profit. I can't discount my figures that much and make it worth my while to make them. So, that forces retailers to have to price my figures at a much higher price then I can sell them at.  We haven't come up with a good compromise at this point.
